Tuesday Morning Musings - Week EightThe Jets had to do something, but the quarterback wasn’t really the problem - Their weak running attack is a bigger issue. Save a couple of games,
Chad Pennington hasn’t really been that bad. He completed 67% of his passes and his nine touchdowns to seven interceptions isn’t particularly awful. In relief yesterday, Kellen Clemens completed 5 of 12 passes for 67 yards and two interceptions. That’s not an upgrade. It’s gonna get worse before it gets better, Jets fans.
What really bothers me about the Jets’ quarterback change is the effect it may have on the Dolphins’ chances to make history. Pennington would have torched the lame Dolphins’ defense, and his benching decreases Miami’s chances at a winless season. If Clemens continues to complete 45% of his passes, the Dolphins might just win a home game.
