   The next coming, or not?

Each year there are many fantasy players that have great seasons one year only to be highly questionable to some the next season. This is one of the best parts of Fantasy Football; The Great Debate. For almost every player you can find a debate somewhere, but some bring much more heat to their debate than others.

One player that is generating a lot of heat for 2008 is Cleveland Brown's QB Derek Anderson.

Anderson started the 2007 season backing up for Charlie Frye, which lasted all of one week. In week 2 Anderson became the starter and Frye was shown the door out of Cleveland. Anderson threw for 5 TDs and 328 yards in that first start against Cincinnati, and then went on to have an incredible season for Cleveland, throwing for over 3700 yards and 29 TDs, while also adding 3 TDs on the ground.  He finished in the top 10 at QB.

Many feel that this would make him an automatic top pick in 2008, but this is where The Great Debate comes in.

Two of our own took a hard look at Anderson and guess what? They have conflicting ideas on how Anderson will do in 2008, go figure.

Can Derek Anderson pick up where he left off in 2007, or will he succumb to the pressure awaiting him, especially with highly sought 2nd-year QB Brady Quinn waiting on the sidelines to get his chance?

I agree with Jim and the top 10 finish.  He has 1 full year of starting experience and 1 more year of understanding the offense.

My only concern is injury, atleast for Dynasty.  I'm afraid that he gets hurt, not benched as Tony said, and then never gets his chance again.  I really don't think that happens, but I know that happened to a guy in Green Bay.  I think the argument against DA doing well last year was pretty weak.  DA is only 2 years older then Quinn so I don't think the Quinn is the future argument is valid.

Wow,
I got to pick between Taz and Runhard's opinion  here?

How does a Guy win this one Wink ??
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I call for a Drawl!!! Shocked That slightly favors Anderson

In all honesty I think Anderson is the next "Kurt Warner story" and no matter
what happens in Cleveland this Year, one of these QB'S is more then likely going to be packing bags
and moving on, The Front Office in Cleveland must feel like their walking a fine line here,
The obvious move to make is the one they've made.....keep betting on Anderson into 08
and if he turns out to keep putting up Top 10 Numbers or even Top 15 Numbers, you've got to cut
your losses with Quinn and try and get some Value for him going into the 09 Rookie draft,
(He's just making wayyyyy to much money to be holding a clip board in 09 and making commercials to).

Derrick Anderson or Brady Quinn ..........That's what needs to be decided in 08 and put to rest,

As it stands now I have.. Brady Quinn... firmly placed in the ...Flutie Flakes department,
he maybe waiting a long time if Cleveland chooses to keep both.

Either Way, both appear to have long carears ahead of them no matter what Cleveland does,
and all this is riding on Anderson as it was last year, the overall Performance was there, but
now comes the biggest question, Can he do it again, or does he flop?

So Great Debate guys,

I don't believe he'll flop, and nothing has shown me Quinn is the Man.
so For now I agree more with Taz based on what I've seen, though I imagine
the pressure's on The Cleveland Front Office and Anderson are big, and something
is gonna have to give in 09, because If Anderson has another year this year like he did
in 07.....I can't see the front office not deciding to get some Value for Quinn
in the 09 draft with the trade of Quinn.

Glad It's not my decision. Grin

Of course Anderson should be drafted as a top 10 QB. He's a fairly good value pick at QB. Now I don't expect 3700/30 this year again, but 3500/23 with upside is a solid #1 QB.

I assume you meant Anderson not Quinn

Good assumption, I'm surprised I mixed them up.
