Money League TEAM looking for Partners / Shareholders
«
on:
June 06, 2008, 12:27:50 PM »
I am looking to see who is interested in joining me to create a Dream Team to join money leagues starting this year in Fantasy Football and make some cash!!!! The goal is to create a nice bank roll and later enter some premier money leagues (WCOFF, NFFC, etc...). I thought a TEAM concept would be very cool and a lot of fun.
Shares for the inaugural season will start off at $1.00 each ($100 CAP LIMIT). Shares must be purchased in $1 increments. We will use funds to enter various money league drafts. Shareholders will help out during drafts so that we can draft the best team available. Shareholders can cash out their shares only during off season (January - July). Share prices will be reevaluated after each fantasy football season (January)
Here's an example:
Let's say we have 5 people:
A - $1 (1 share)
B- $50 (50 shares)
C - $100 (100 shares)
D - $100 (100 shares)
E - $100 (100 shares)
TOTAL 351 shares
Shares start out a $1 in value...
We have a total of $351....lets say we spend $300 on leagues and win $700. We now have a total of $751. We then reevaluate the new price for shares by taking the total amount of money we have ($751) and divide that by number of shares purchased (351)... $751 / Total shares (351) = $2.1396. So each share is now worth $2.1396. So player A could sell his 1 share back and get $2.14 back. Or player C could sell 100 shares and get $213.96 back.
For season 2 each share would cost $2.14 (we will round up on buying shares and round down when selling shares to the nearest penny).
So the time to get in is NOW. I am creating this so that we can be a TEAM and use all of our knowledge together. We will keep rolling this over so we can enter the WCOFF and other High Profile leagues and win some MAJOR Jack.
For the draft, the members will use Forums to discuss plans on how to draft for upcoming drafts. For the day of the Draft, members will use a Chat Room to discuss upcoming draft choices.
For each pick, we will have the 3 largest shareholders decide who to pick after listening to everyone. If for some reason, all 3 have a different player....the 4th largest shareholder will select one of those 3 players.
These are just my thoughts, but I am open to change the format. Please post any suggestions and/or if you want to join this team with the amount of shares you wish to purchase.
Please post by 6/30 if you wish to join. On 7/1, we will start discussing the game plan for the interested members.
Team Members Shares Purchasing Amount Owed
RUN HARD 100 $0
Taz 100 $0
No Problem 100 $0
rubberduck71 100 $0
RodHands 50
$50
Knightbadger 30 $0
Wicked 30 $0
Frozen Tundra 50 $0
7 Members 510 $510 Share Price - $1.00

This is definitly a different concept, but one that could be cool. Not having to fork over $1500 by one person is a nce turn on for me.
Is the cap set to $100? I know you can buy less, but can you buy more? I would suggest we cap it at $100 so someone cant buy main control.
We would also need a way to determine which leagues to play in. I'm sure there would be other things to discuss as well, but I am in.
Taz - $100 - 100 shares

Thats a good question Rod, and one we need to answer. I do believe that Tony is away for the weekend, so we can talk to him on Monday.

I have played in the WCOFF for 4 years now and it is great competition and involves MANY difficult decisions along the way from the draft to weekly blind bidding. I applaud runhard for his creativity but will forwarn all as to the trouble of more than 2 or 3 managers of a team for large stakes.
The WCOFF runs sattelite leagues that are from $125- $1000 (125 pays out first place of 2k or free entry into the 2009 WCOFF show). I would advise these types of teams to be split up as I am sure there would be fewer problems I have attached the site
http://www.wcoff.com/Events/OnlineSatellites/tabid/80/Default.aspx#World_Championship_of_Online_Fantasy_Football
Last year in the real WCOFF the guy who drafted in the one hole of my 12 man league knocked me out of the playoffs and won the whole contest...$300,000!
I will be drafting for the main WCOFF in Orlando this year and will be entering several Sats as well. I recommend waiting a while as it is very difficult to draft in june and july for the season, too much luck is involved. Just my .02

Thanks for the posts.....
#1 Deadline -- I will be searching for money leagues and see when their drafts are. My guess is that our deadline will be around 8/1. We will then have a 2- 4 week period to search for best money league and discuss draft plans.
#2 WCOFF -- I do agree in this MULTI drafts the key is to draft as late as possible. We will not be drafting in the WCOFF league (unless we get 20 + members)...but probably a few $100 leagues to build a bankroll.
#3 I am adding RodHands to the list.
#4 You can tentatively sign-up...and we can always remove person if needed.
Thanks

I forgot to add in my post that of course I am game if it is the right ownership division.
Put me down for a $100
My recomendation;
Goals for year 1
1.
Initial Bank roll of $500 preferably per Consortium;
5 - $100 investors (must be odd as all decisions would have to be a vote with majority winning)
or
3 primary (@ $100 a piece each receiving 1 vote) and 4 $50 members (who would receive a half vote)
2.
Enter 4 WCOFF Satellites at $125 per league. That would give the consortium 4 chances to win an entry into the 2009 WCOFF main event with first place being $300,000 ( just winning your league of 12 will net $6,000- $10,000 at least). If the group won more than 1 Satellite league we could take the 2K per win or increase entries into 2009 WCOFF main event. I suggest these leagues because they are established/trust worthy, the ease of use, experience with the format, and familiarity with the blind bidding system.
Just throwing this out there for discussion what do you guys think....

Great info No Problem. We will nail down the specifics once we know how many members we have. After we create the specifics, all interested shareholders can review and make a final decision if they want in or not. Then we will collect a payment. I want to allow anyone to be a part of it. Someone could just have 1 share and still can make suggestion on draft philosophy or who to draft on a current pick (via Chat room). This person may notice a player fell that everyone has overlooked and everyone agrees that is a great pick and we do it. But if we do have 2 or 3 different views on a pick...we will have a set way of determining how the pick will be made.
I was thinking of adding these as deadlines:
6/30 Deadline to post if you are interested in becoming a shareholder.
7/7 Post final team structure and how picks will be made when there a different opinions. This would be discussed
from 6/30 - 7/7 with all interested shareholders
7/15 Payments due. Payments can be made from 7/7 - 7/15. People that posted they were interested are free to backout if they disagree with the set up we come up with.
7/15 - Start of NFL We would discuss:
Draft stragedy
Which drafts to enter
Player rankings by positions
Assignments during draft
ETC....
I will Update and add No Problem on the interested list.

I'd be interested in joining this motley crew, though probably on the low investment end of like $20.
