In spite of all the film and documentation over their college careers, evaluatiors always seem to start second-guessing themselves the closer the draft gets, based only on fractions of a second at the combine or pro-day workouts, or rumors over injuries, "durability", and so forth...
There is also a ton of blatant deversion and mis-information swarmming at this time of year as the NFL teams try to bluff and bluster each other.
Not to say Mendenhall won't be a productive back and likely the 2nd RB taken, but I'd be flat drop-dead amazed if any team in the NFL with the opportunity took Mendehhall over McFadden.
