Oklahoma WR Kelly may be off draft boards

NFL Network's Mike Mayock reports that both of Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly's knees "are of such concern" that he may be removed from some teams' draft boards in April.

Kelly got hurt in both the Sooners' bowl games the past two years. He hasn't participated in any pre-draft events. Kelly plans to run privately on April 9. Mayock hints that there is a good chance Kelly, the No. 1 receiver in the draft according to some internet services, will go in round two. Mar. 24 - 6:59 pm et

Take it for what it's worth.  Just thought I'ld share.

Thanks, Brad... assuming it's not "news" released by a GM of a team that doesn't think Kelly will make it to them otherwise, this will most likely seriously drop him down...

Good thing he came out of college early...

He's been in the top 3 or 4 of just about every WR ranking I've seen.  It'll be interesting to see if he does workout any time before the draft, and where he actually gets drafted (and by what team).

Thanks for the heads-up, Brad!

Here is some more.  On this.

Malcolm Kelly-WR-Player Mar. 31 - 6:29 pm et

The agent for Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly sent an e-mail to GMs and scouting departments declaring his client "fully healed."

Not that it means much. What will matter is how Kelly looks at his April 9 Pro Day after reports have circulated questioning the health of both his knees. NFL Network's Mike Mayock indicated last week that they're such a problem Kelly may be removed from some draft boards in April.

    Malcolm Kelly-WR-Player Apr. 9 - 2:00 pm et

Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly ran forty times of 4.75 and 4.68 at his Pro Day on Wednesday.

This may very well knock the underclassman out of first-round consideration. By comparison, Dwayne Jarrett ran 4.67 and 4.62 at his Pro Day a year ago and went No. 45 overall. Kelly's vertical leap (32") also was unimpressive. He did reportedly look "very good" in position drills. Teammate Reggie Smith ran 4.65 and 4.61. Non-zone teams may only look at Smith as a safety now.
