How Mud...I disagree with a ton of your opinions.    Grin

First of all I am a Cleveland fan....if Cincinnati wins a Super Bowl it would SUCK.  I would not be happy because an OH team won.  Cincinnati is the #3 team on the HATE list.

Also...no titles in Cleveland....please leave Cincinnati out.  They only have 2 sport teams and the Reds won a title in 1990...plus Reds were dominate in the 90's.

As far as free agency...the Browns have actually been very busy the past few years:

2 yrs ago they signed the biggest free agent in STUD LeCharles Bentley (but the Cleveland curse ruined him his 1st play of the 1st practice).  Then also have signed OT Steinbach who has an ALL PRO alternate.  They signed Jamal Lewis.

Since Savage has taken over as GM, he has done a amazing job.  He has rebuilt the O-line.  I believe his focus now turns to the D-Line and if a FA is available and can be an impact...he will go after.

Cleveland has had 121 consecutive  MAJOR sports seasons without a Championship.  That is taking out strike years and when Art Model decided to take the Browns and move to Baltimore to win a Super Bowl there....just to continue this long-time agony.

Cav's 37 straight
Indian's 42 straight
Brown's 40 straight
Baron's 2 straight

TOTAL 121

No Problem....Buffalo ranks right up there with heartbrakes.

4 Super Bowls loses
1 Stanley cup loss to Dallas (that 1 know of)

Plus other big heartbrakes:

  Norwood
  Music City Miracle
  FOOT IN THE CREASE
GOAL thru the side of the NET

My wife and I are Sabres fans....went to a few games when they lost to Dallas in the Stanley Cup

All good memories run hard...  Cry

I believe we lost a game 7 to the Flyers for the cup in the 70's.The ice started to sublimate and created a fog during the game...

I also remember losing a game 7 to the Bruins to go to the cup when the puck rebounded off one of our defenseman's head and into the net...

maybe its an ancient Indian curse or something.

I am glad I moved to Orlando 20 years ago and adopted the Bucs, 2002 was a great year!

How many times has Buffalo gotten screwed on Instant Replays not overturning stufff?

Stanley Cup game 6 VS Dallas...the game winning score....guy clearly was in the crease.
A Play-off game....puck went thru side of the net...

Hockey has instant replay were these both were clear...but were not overturned

Then the Music City Miracle forward pass errrrrrrr lateral bu Whycheck.  Ok this was was close....I can live with the ruling a legal lateral.

But man...Buffula must hate instant replay.........

Shawn Alexander ---- How far has this Guy really fallen?

I own Alexander in Badlands #1 and am really starting to wonder
if this Guy has just become a Bum?

Obviously Seattle may think so, Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett have been
signed within 3 weeks of each other, what's going on?

Has Alexander gotten Fat or what?

Hey Gator

My condolences on owning Alexander. After reading this article this morning I think Alexander's fate will be known very soon and I am betting it comes in the form of an AXE! There is no way they keep Alexander at his current contract price and little expectation that Alexander will play for substantialy less. Your best hope is that Seattle cuts him. IMHO

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawks/2004273913_hawk11.html

There is still hope as I believe the wrist injury and the sprained knee hurt him a great deal last year and while he will never return to superstar status he should be able to land on his feet with another team. I would project with the right RBBC that he could have 150-200 carries for 600 - 800 yards and 6-7 tds. Not great numbers but he certainly has a place on a roster as a solid #3 rb and an adequate  bye week filler.

You should have made him a RFA and sold him to highest bidder IMHO.( Deuce brought 4,200 BLB's in our league, Badlands  2 "The deuce") Although hindsight is always 20/20.

Yeah, the 'Hawks now have four RBs under contract:  Alexander, Jones, Duckett, and Maurice Morris.  By my math, that's too many, and too much cap room invested in one position:

-- Jones (26) was signed with a four-year deal repotedly worth nearly $12 million, with a good chunk of it in the first year.  That's significant money for a RB, and a sign they expect him to at least compete closely for the starting role.

-- Duckett (just turned 27) signed for a 5-year $17 million deal, but heavily back-loaded.  More likely, ignoring incentives, it's a 3-year $7.5 million deal, and it only counts for $1 million against the cap in it's first year.  Duckett has to show his worth in the first year and is doing his audition at a cap-friendly price.

-- Morris (28) is still under contract, for somewhere around $1 - $2 million -- definitely worth keeping around at that price, even if only as a backup.

-- But Alexander (who turns 31 in August) is due a $4.475 million salary and, with pro-rated bonuses, will count $6.775 against the cap this year if he's on the roster.  He's coming off two injury-filled seasons and has seen his stats steadily decrease, so that $6.8 mil is a huge cap hit for a guy on the decline who's been having problems staying on the field.

The team will save $4.0 million against the cap over the next two years if they release Alexander after June 1st -- My guess is they will...

I also wouldn't be surprised to even see them draft a RB in the early rounds to get a young guy for the future, too.

Thanks Guys,

I just saw two great Posts,

I dont think I've ever seen a Top RB fall so Far so Fast?

I agree, I think I would be better off if Seattle got rid of Alexander, it's also a perfect example as to why
I don't look at RB'S past 2 years unless they are between 2 and 4 year RB'S.
Obvously Alexander is not.....but still you kind of wonder what happened to this Guy's passion for the game?

3 years ago he was the Best back in the League, now he's being replaced with Committee RB'S.

Obviously this guy has turned into a Bum, I suspect it's do to a lack of heart, or Seattle would not be making these
moves..........Obvously I can't get rid of him now, so it looks like I have to hope this BUM
finds his self respect again, to bad there we're no reports indicating what a lazy BUM he had become.

I just heard the He was overweight by 23 pounds......

Thanks Alexander, looks like I'm stuck with worthless in Seattle.  Undecided

He quickly fell from a possible Top 10 all time to another chump passing threw
