McFadden....Matt Ryan....Chris Long...Glenn Dorsey...Jake Long....Sedrick Ellis...

Trade the pick.......

Well....I would look to trade down and down and take a top OL or DL....maybe somebody is in love with McFadden.  If I was Miami I would say no way we are trading the pick we are taking Darren McFadden.  Then hope McFadden tears it up at the combines and see if anyone will overpay.  If nobody falls for that...then announce your looking to trade down.

Your thoughts???

I definitely think they will try to trade down, just not sure how many takers there will be. With Miami invested in Brown to the tune of 12M until 2010, I can't see them taking McFadden, especially after Brown got off to a monster start in 2007.

Doesn't the Tuna retool teams by starting with defense and Hogs?   I cannot see them keeping the #1 pick.  Besides if they want another RB they could get one later in the first or second round.

There are some ripples to the effect the Cowboys may take a shot at getting the pick from Miami...but at this time it is just rumor on the local talk radio.

i think if they try this anywhere it will be at the 3/4/5 pick and i think the likely trading partner would be falcons... i know that sounds stupid but with the picks they have the points equate well and atl are in dire need of tons of picks aswell

I agree 100%

I think Bill is going after as many Hogs and defenders as he can, I think he may bring in a vet QB threw FA atleast this year

My opinion is that Parcells follows the model that the NY Giants set in winning the Super Bowl, and what the Texans showed was the right move in taking Mario Williams, and takes the surest bet on the board, going with Chris Long.

The Dolphins have so many ways they can go that it's really hard to even predict. I think their best option is to try to trade down a few spots, honestly.

Last year, they cut almost all of their offensive line, and had mostly new players (or at least new starters) this year. Now they've done it again... if they want to EVER win again, they are going to have to build and maintain a strong offensive line.

Fortunately, there are two OLs ranked in or around the top-5 players in this year's draft. Do they take one #1 overall? I would imagine not... but if they can swing a trade down to 5 or 6 and pick up a few more first and early-second day picks (remember - only rounds 1 and 2 on the first day this year), I think they will get a player they love, a player they desperately NEED, and a player who is actually the best player available at their draft spot.

And that player will be a Jake Long or Ryan Clady.

I totally agree Adam.  I would lean towards Jake Long.   But if forced to pick #1....I think they need to pick Chris Long.

I see Miami drafting a LONG with their 1st pick.

With the Dolphins moving to a 3-4, unless they would look at moving Chris Long to OLB, I guess it would make sense they wouldn't spend a 1.01 on a player in a scheme who's job is to occupy blockers so the LB's can make the plays.

It is an interesting thought that Parcells would want to make a big splash and change the whole culture of the team, and go with Matt Ryan. If the Dolphins address the OL, I expect it to be through FA as they would need players who can come right in and contribute at the NFL level. I would expect them to make a big run at UFA Flozell Adams and maybe UFA Alan Faneca.

I think Miami takes one of the Longs, as either makes sense for them.

Reports out of the combine is Marion Barber, and the two 1st rounders for the 1.01. That would be one of the most bizaarre trades I think Jerry Jones ever made.

In my opinion bizarre for both teams.  I like MIA trading down...but I feel RB is not a major concern...why take Barber?

Dallas---why trade a TOP RB & 2 #1's for a CHANCE at picking a TOP RB.   I rather have an ESTABLISHED TOP RB and 2 #1's versus 1 UNESTABLISHED RB....

Bizarre...HELL YA

Mike---you have any reports with legs to this?

This would be beyond idiotic, from a Dallas point of view...so here's hoping they do it.  Grin  In fact, good luck trading down fromt the 1.01, Miami. This doesn't happen nowadays even in drafts where there IS a clearcut #1. My personal guess is that Miami takes whichever of the top several players is willing to put a name to contract before the draft. If I had to venture a guess, it would be one of the Longs.

I seriously doubt Dallas would even consider moving Barber no matter what was being dangled in front of them... and especially not this year where there are a number of promising RB prospects.
