The Kansas City Chiefs have send DE Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings for 3 draft picks. Kansas City will recieve the Vikings 1st (17th overall), and both of it's third round picks, 73rd and 82nd overall. The teams also swapped spots in the 6th round.
The Vikings defensive line just got a lot stronger. This defense could be one of the top fantasy scoring defenses, especially if they can shore up their secondary in the draft. Allen could even better his numbers from 2007 with the two monster Williams next to him.

Steve McNair intended to complete the final three years of his contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He worked hard during the offseason and arrived at minicamp ready to assume his role as the starting quarterback.
His body had other plans.
McNair announced his retirement Thursday, ending a 13-year career in which he was selected co-MVP, led the Tennessee Titans to the Super Bowl and orchestrated the most successful regular season in the Ravens history. He received a standing ovation from his teammates after revealing his decision, then contained his emotions during a hastily arranged news conference.
He may have been on his way out anyway, but you can never take away the toughness that he played with year in and year out. He may never make the Hall Of Fame, but he will always be remembered. Good luck Steve.

Following yet another run-in with the law, the Cincinnati Bengals have cut ties with incorrigible cancer Chris Henry.
Henry, 24, surrendered to police Wednesday evening after he was accused of punching an 18-year old in the face and breaking his car window with a beer bottle.
Henry has had a number of encounters with law enforcement, ranging from a recent court appearance for driving with an expired license plate to five arrests since December, 2005.
The receiver served a league suspension, and created a great deal of frustration within the Bengals' organization.
Commissioner Goodell isn't going to take this one lightly. Say goodnight, Gracie. |
|
The Pittsburgh Steelers have reached a contract agreement with free agent defensive lineman Anthony "Booker" McFarland, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
McFarland was released last week by the Indianapolis Colts after he failed the team's physical. On Tuesday, McFarland underwent a physical for the Steelers before terms were reached. Details of any contract agreement were not immediately available. |
|
Defensive end Kevin Carter, released at the end of February in a salary-cap related move by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has reportedly decided to re-join the Bucs for a one-year contract, spurning a two-year offer from the Oakland Raiders.
Carter is expected to make less than he did last year in the first season of a four-year deal he originally accepted to join the Buccaneers. He is entering his 14th NFL season. |
|
The Philadelphia Eagles on Monday signed former Patriots' and Colts' defensive tackle Dan Klecko to a two-year contract - to be the team's new full-time fullback.
Klecko has played sparingly on offense over the years, scoring one touchdown two years ago with the Colts. He enters the team competing, at this time, only against a player who was on the practice squad last year (Jason Davis) after the team did not re-sign former starter Thomas Tapeh. He says, though, that he intends to lose about 20 pounds in order to transition to the position. |
|
The Carolina Panthers are showing a commitment to try to free up receiver Steve Smith - first by re-signing veteran Muhsin Muhammad, and now the team have signed free agent WR DJ Hackett, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks.
Hackett agreed to a two-year, $3.5 million deal and appears slated to step into the #2 starting wideout role opposite Smith. |
|
The San Francisco 49ers have released veteran wide receiver Darrell Jackson.
Jackson spent just one disappointing year with the 49ers, who this week signed Bryant Johnson, a former first round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals. |
|
ESPN is reporting that the Atlanta Falcons have agreed in principle to a trade that will send cornerback DeAngelo Hall to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for the Raiders' second-round draft pick.
The deal is reportedly contingent on the Raiders reaching a new contract agreement with Hall, but ESPN is also reporting that the two sides are close to an agreement. |
|
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reported that Oregon's standout RB Jonathan Stewart had surgery on his toe on Wednesday, and is expected to miss 4-6 months.
This will most likley impact his draft selection, but he is still a very good fantasy selection if he lands in the right spot.

Oh woe is me. In one of my leagues I started Jay Cutler, Travis Henry, Lamont Jordan, Patrick Crayton and Roy Williams. Now guess what they all have in common? Yup, you guessed it, they are all on the Fantasy Death list this week. Needless to say it was not pretty.
Also, as I commented in the Fantasy Diamonds article, it was not a good week to be a TE, as 3 of the biggest are on this list, and I know they hurt you.
Without further ado, here are the rest of the slugs from week 9.

Week 9 was definitely no friend to Tight Ends, as only Tony Gonzalez did anything noteworthy, but Adrian Peterson can already be seen walking up the steps to receive his Rookie of the Year award after beating Jamal Lewis' record for single game yardage by one yard. I bet it gave some some motivation to Jamal Lewis though, as he busted out 4 TDs himself.
On the defensive side of the ball, it seems the Jets may have found their replacement for Jonathan Vilma in David Harris. Harris acounted for 20 solo tackles and 4 assists. Amazing stuff.
Read on to see the list of all players that should have helped your team in a big way yesterday.
