The Miami Dolphins are going to be looking to replace wide receiver Wes Welker, as it is likely they will not attempt to match the huge contract the New England Patriots are dangling in from of him. As a result, free agent wide receiver Kelley Washington is on his way to Miami to sign a contract as early as today, based on reports from the Palm Beach Post.  Washington has been in a logjam in Cincinnati behind wide receivers Chad Johnson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chris Henry.  He has posted 19 receptions and two scores over the last two seasons due to this issue.

According to WBAY-TV, the Green Bay Packers have turned their sights to wide receiver Joe Horn, who was recently released by the New Orleans Saints.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that he has spoken with Horn, who played for the Saints while McCarthy was offensive coordinator. During McCarthy's tenure, Horn averaged 87 receptions a year.

The New England Patriots are reportedly interested in trading for Raiders' wide receiver Randy Moss, according to the Boston Herald.

The Herald notes that Bill Belichick feels he could motivate Moss, and that the Patriots' locker room leadership could keep him in check.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, former Eagles' wide receive Donte' Stallworth is a participant in the league's substance abuse program.

As a result of his entry into the program, he could receive a league suspension should he violate the terms of the program.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns have signed free agent cornerback Kenny Wright to a three-year contract.

Wright, a ninth-year pro, played for the Redskins last season, starting nine games.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that the Miami Dolphins have signed former Green Bay Packers' tight end David Martin to a contract.

Terms were not immediately avialable.

The Dolphins have been shopping incumbent tight end Randy McMichael with an asking price of a third-round draft pick.

The Cleveland Browns will get right tackle Rex Tucker back after he has returned from a bout with mental illness, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Tucker says that his medications have been adjusted and he is feeling fine.

The right tackle was the team's most productive offensive lineman the last four seasons, and served as team captain.

Free agent tight end Jerramy Stevens is a talented player that carries a great deal of baggage with him, and that is likely why the Seattle Seahawks allowed him to leave to free agency. However, the Green Bay Packers are in need of tight end help and general manager Ted Thompson may be willing to bring him on board. Thompson was responsible for the drafting of Stevens in 2002 in the first round out of the University of Washington.

Linebacker Tedy Bruschi has finally squelched rumors that he was considering retirement. Buschi stated, "I'm ready to play. There's never been any decision. I never had a doubt. I'm coming back." This will be his 12th season in the league and all have been with the New England Patriots.

After the Denver Broncos talked to Ahman Green, they may have redirected their interest to a new free agent running back, Travis Henry. He was released this weekend by the Tennessee Titans due to their not wanting to pay a $8.3 million roster bonus.

I like this move by the Broncos.  Not only is Henry younger than Green, I think that he fits the zone blocking running back mold with his smallish, compact frame.

The Dallas Cowboys are finalizing a deal with Arizona Cardinals' free agent offensive lineman Leonard Davis.

Davis is expected to play either right tackle or right guard for the Cowboys. His contract is likely to exceed those of other starting-calibre offensive linemen who have been signed thus far in free agency, meaning his deal should be a little bit over 7-years and $49 million.

The Cleveland Browns signed versatile offensive lineman Eric Steinbach to a seven-year, $49.5 million deal on Saturday.

Steinbach has played every offensive line position, but is more natural at guard.

His deal guarantees $17 million.

As an update to earlier news on Patriots making offer to wide receiver Wes Welker, the deal has been confirmed by Adam Schefter of NFL Network that the Patriots have placed an offer sheet of seven years for $38.5 million on the table. The Miami Dolphins will have seven days to match the offer or surrender Welker and receive a 2nd round pick from the Patriots.

The Denver Post reports that the Broncos have signed former New Orleans Saints' guard Montrae Holland to a one-year contract.

Holland is expected to compete with Chris Kuper at right guard.
