The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed P Dustin Colquitt to a 5-year contract.

The San Diego Chargers have released 37-year old FB Lorenzo Neal. He is coming off a broken leg and may have a hard time finding a roster spot.

The Chargers have released FS Marlon McCree on Thursday. They have 2nd year player Eric Weddle waiting in the wings and many feel it is a definite upgrade.

THe Oakland Raiders have re-signed DT Tommy Kelly to a 7-year, $50.5 million contract. The deal includes $18.125 million in guaranteed money and makes Kelly the highest paid tackle in the league.

The Philadelphia Eagles have released 31-year old DE Jevon Kearse. He is no longer the dominant end he used to be and is only a situational player at this point.

The New York Giants and Head Coach Tom Coughlin have agreed in principle on a 4-year, $21 million contract. There are some minor details and verbiage that still needs to be worked out, but the deal could be official as early as next week. This moves Coughlin into the top pay tier of coaches in the NFL.

The Buffalo Bills released RB Anthony Thomas, LB Coy Wire, CB Jerametrious Butler and OG Aaron Mertz.

Thomas was made expendable with the play of Fred Jackson and Dwayne Wright.

The Tennessee Titans have re-signed versatile receiver Justin Gage to a multi-year contract. Gage led the team in receptions (55) and receiving yardage (750) in 2007.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released DEs Kevin Carter and Greg Spires. Carter is 35 and would have cost over $6 million in cap money, plus he had only 3 sacks on the season. Spires is 32 and coming off an achilles injury in 2007.

The Kansas City Chiefs released 4 players on Wednesday, including CB Ty Law, DT James Reed, LB Kendrell Bell and TE Jason Dunn. These cuts were expected as KC continues to cut the older players on the team. Law was the only starter out of these four, and the one with the best chance to catch on somewhere else.

The Carolina Panthers cut ties with the former #1 pick, QB David Carr on Wednesday. Many thought he would take over in Carolina, but that sure didn't happen. This might be the death knell to his career.

The Carolina Panthers signed WR Muhsin Muhammad to a 2-year contract. While he has lost a step, he can still be a productive receiver for the Panthers, and if Dwayne Jarrett falters in the preseason, Muhammad might have a chance to start opposite Steve Smith again.

The Detroit Lions continued to work on their secondary on Wednesday by signing former Vikings free safety, Dwight Smith to a 2-year, $5 million contract. The move could mark the end of Kenoy Kennedy in Detroit.

The Baltimore Ravens released 34-year old RB Mike Anderson on Wednesday. The moves saves the team $1.3 million in cap space for 2008, but leaves the team with no viable backup RB.

During a routine drug check on his way to a suite to see a rap concert in Lafayette, LA, New England Patriots' running back Kevin Faulk was found in possession of several marijuana joints.

Faulk has been charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly already active in this year's free agent market, reaching terms of an agreement with kick returner Allen Rossum and nearing a deal with recently-released running back DeShaun Foster.

The Foster deal may even be announced within the next few days.

If signed, Foster would step into the #2 role behind starter Frank Gore.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Minnesota Vikings are finalizing a deal that will send wide receiver Troy Williamson to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth-round draft pick.

Details are expected to be smoothed out by the start of the trading and free agency period late Thursday night.

Williamson has become infamous both for his notorious case of the dropsies, and measures taken to correct vision problems with the help of Nike that were hoped to cure the aforementioned stone hands.

The Detroit Lions on Monday released veteran cornerback Fernando Bryant.

Bryant started all 16 games last year, registering a career high in interceptions and 70 tackles, despite injuring his foot in week 10.

Minnesota Vikings' offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie was arrested for aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence following a nightclub brawl early Sunday morning.
