THe Oakland Raiders have re-signed DT Tommy Kelly to a 7-year, $50.5 million contract. The deal includes $18.125 million in guaranteed money and makes Kelly the highest paid tackle in the league.

The New York Giants and Head Coach Tom Coughlin have agreed in principle on a 4-year, $21 million contract. There are some minor details and verbiage that still needs to be worked out, but the deal could be official as early as next week. This moves Coughlin into the top pay tier of coaches in the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs released 4 players on Wednesday, including CB Ty Law, DT James Reed, LB Kendrell Bell and TE Jason Dunn. These cuts were expected as KC continues to cut the older players on the team. Law was the only starter out of these four, and the one with the best chance to catch on somewhere else.

The Carolina Panthers signed WR Muhsin Muhammad to a 2-year contract. While he has lost a step, he can still be a productive receiver for the Panthers, and if Dwayne Jarrett falters in the preseason, Muhammad might have a chance to start opposite Steve Smith again.

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly already active in this year's free agent market, reaching terms of an agreement with kick returner Allen Rossum and nearing a deal with recently-released running back DeShaun Foster.
The Foster deal may even be announced within the next few days.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Minnesota Vikings are finalizing a deal that will send wide receiver Troy Williamson to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth-round draft pick.
Details are expected to be smoothed out by the start of the trading and free agency period late Thursday night.
Williamson has become infamous both for his notorious case of the dropsies, and measures taken to correct vision problems with the help of Nike that were hoped to cure the aforementioned stone hands. |
