The Green Bay Packers have signed rookie wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who they selected in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. The details of the deal have not been disclosed by the Packers front office.
It will be difficult for Nelson to break into the starting lineup in his first season with the Packers. However, he should be able to push second-year wide receiver James Jones for playing time as the third receiver on the team.

The Buffalo Bills have signed their first round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, defensive back Leodis McKelvin. The deal is for five years and worth $19.4 million with $12.6 million of bonuses.
The Bills defense just got another infusion of talent and should be considered one of the top units in the league this season. If all goes well, McKelvin could be starting by opening day, if he beats out defensive back Jabari Greer.

The Tennessee Titans now have their final 2008 NFL draft pick under contract, first-round selection (24th overall) running back Chris Johnson. The deal is worth $12 million for five years, with $7 million in guaranteed money.
This is good news for the Titans, who have been looking at Johnson from a receiving aspect of the game. However, it should be obvious to Fantasy owners that Johnson is eventually going eat away at running back LenDale White's carries.

The Miami Dolphins have signed 2nd round pick, QB Chad Henne, to a 4-year, $3.5 million contract.
Signing now is a great plan if Henne has any chance to start this year. He will need to get into camp right away and outshine veteran journeyman Josh McCown and 2nd-year passer John Beck. In reality Miami has nothing to lose by putting him in there and seeing what he can do. They won't compete this year anyway.

The New England Patriots signed FA RB LaMont Jordan one day after he was released by Oakland.
Just another worry for fantasy owners in regards to Laurence Maroney's true value for 2008. Jordan is a good enough runner when healthy to steal a decent amount of work from Maroney. Keep an eye on this battle in training camp.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed both of their 1st round picks, Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins, to 5-year deals on Friday. Terms of the agreements have not been released yet.
Both are expected at camp today, so have only missed a day of work. Jenkins figures to fight for a nickel spot this season, while Jones will back up Barber, although he will need to work on his receiving skills at this level to be more than a backup.

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed 1st-round rookie DT Glenn Dorsey. Terms of the deal have not been released yet.
Many feel that Dorsey is the most talented of all this year's rookies and is expected to step right in and start for the Chiefs from game 1. With his strength and speed, he should make a very nice IDP sleeper, as there is a good chance that KC's defense will be on the field alot.

The Dallas Cowboys released WR Terry Glenn on Friday, although team Owner Jerry Jones hinted that Glenn would be welcome back, but at a much smaller salary.
It's obvious the Cowboys were not sure Glenn's surgically repaired knee would stand up, especially at 34 years old. There are teams rumored to be interested in him. The Dolphins and Bears seem to be good options if he can pass a physical.

Philip Daniels The Washington Redskins started training camp on Saturday. It wasn't a good day. The team lost two defensive ends for the year. Philip Daniels was lost for the season when he tore the ACL in his left knee early in practice. Then shortly later the team lost young up-and-comer Alex Buzbee when he ruptured his achilles tendon.
Cornerback Fred Smoot also sprained his foot during practice and will miss at least one week. Not a good start to camp.
