Reports out of Seattle are indicating that kicker Josh Brown turned down a contract offer from the Seattle Seahawks that would have made him the highest-paid kicker in in the league, and that Brown does not plan to return to the team next year.
The fifth-year pro enters free agency after posting 127 points in 2007. |

The Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be overhauling their receiving corps.
On Friday, the team completed a trade for Vikings' receiver Troy Williamson that had been reported earlier in the week, and signed free agent Jerry Porter to a long-term deal.
It is likely that Porter and Williamson will take up at least two of the top-three receiving slots on the depth chart, with Porter the likely #1. |

Early Friday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reached an agreement with free agent center Jeff Faine, who played the last two seasons with the New Orleans Saints.
Details of the contract were not immediately available, but it is believed that Faine will now be among the league's highest-paid centers. |

Newsday is reporting that New York Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma will soon be wearing black and gold for the New Orleans Saints.
A trade has reportedly been agreed to that will send Vilma to the Bayou for a conditional draft pick, believed to be a 2009 pick that will be determined based on the linebacker's 2008 performance. The deal is expected to be announced Friday morning.

The Cleveland Browns continue to revamp their defensive line on Friday by acquiring DT Corey Williams from Green Bay for a 2nd round pick. Green Bay receives the 56th overall pick in April's draft.
This leaves the Browns with no 1st or 2nd round picks in this draft, but Williams was a good choice for them and should help solidify the middle of the d-line.
