Kansas City Chiefs' rookie defensive tackle, the team's top pick of the 2008 Draft, sprained his knee during Saturday's annual Family Fun Night.
Head coach Herm Edwards termed Dorsey "week-to-week," but noted that they will not know for sure until an MRI and examination are completed. |

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a 4-year contract extension with RB Ryan Grant. The deal is exppected to be worth $30 million, with Grant making $4.25 million this season.
Grant had to feel the pressure of all the good press that backup Brandon Jackson was getting in camp, but whatever the reason Grant owners are glad he is signed and will start practicing soon. Grant should easily jump into his starting role pushing Jackson back into change of pace duty.

The Carolina Panthers announced that WR Steve Smith would be suspended for the first two games of the regular season as punishment for his fight on Friday with DB Ken Lucas. Lucas suffered a broken nose in the fight.
This is the third fight that Smith has instigated since he became a Panther and the team felt it needed to strongly get it's point across. Tough news for Smith's fantasy owners, especially with the fact that everyone thinks the Panther passing game would be rejuvenated with Jake Delhomme healthy. Muhammed and Hackett should get the start for the first two games.

HC Ken Whisenhunt revealed on Friday that the MRI that was performed on WR Anquan Boldin revealed no structural damage to his hamstring. The team hopes that he will be able to start practicing again next week.
Since it has become obvious that Boldin is playing for a new contract this year, although most likely for another team, he will need to stay healthy all year and show he can stay on the field.

Carolina Panthers cornerback Ken Lucas was carted off the field today after a fight with teammate Steve Smith. It is unclear what caused the fight, but linebacker Jon Beason had to pull Smith off of Lucas. Lucas walked off the field, but then was taken to the locker room on a cart.
While you like your players to have an edge, you don't ever want them to injure each other. The team is already talking about a possible suspension, but that is probably mostly posturing as there is no way they keep him out of any regular season games over this.

Icon SMI The NFL will not suspend Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw after deciding that he is not in violation of the personal conduct Policy.
The violation occurred before he was drafted and he served 30 days earlier this offseason and will have to serve another 30 next year to complete his sentence. This is great news for Bradshaw who is fighting for the chance to start for the G-Men, although it looks more like he will be the change of pace back to starter Brandon Jacobs. He is a solid backup to have on your roster.

Icon SMI The NFL suspended former Cincinnati Bengal WR Chris Henry for 4 games on Thursday for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
He is eligible to sign with any other team and with only a 4-game suspension, he will probably get plenty of attention soon. No matter what he is off the field, on the field he is a dynamic pass receiver and to some teams that is all that will matter. How long he stays out of trouble is an entirely different matter.

Veteran safety John Lynch has confirmed to a Denver television station that he has left the Denver Broncos after spending the last 24 hours contemplating his future.
Lynch is reportedly leaving the team because he is unhappy with his role. He has been sitting out of nickel and dime defensive packages, which the nine-time Pro Bowler admits has been bothering him. |

The Brett Favre soap opera continues - and who hasn't already heard all about it?
The latest is the Favre has officially filed for reinstatement, which would normally give the Green Bay Packers 24 hours to put him on the roster or release him. However, the league did not act on the request on Wednesday, giving the team more time to discuss options and talk over the situation with Favre.
Also on Wednesday, Packers' CEO Mark Murphy traveled to Mississippi to meet with Favre, although very little new information has come from that meeting to date. |

Dallas Cowboys' cornerback Terence Newman will miss at least three weeks following a "significant" groin injury suffered on Monday.
Newman sustained an injury last year during training camp that forced him to miss time, as well. This injury may open the door for more playing time to Adam 'Pacman' Jones, although coach Wade Phillips has indicated that Jones is expected to remain behind starting right cornerback Anthony Henry. |
