In many leagues this is the last week that waivers can be made, so it just makes the picks you make this week that much more important. Here are a list of offensive players that may be available in your league that could help your team play itself into the playoffs and beyond.
Here are our Offensive Waiver Wire picks for week 13.
QB
AJ Feeley PHI – Feeley almost pulled off the upset of the season with a very good game against the Patriots in week 12. He passed for 345 yards and 3 touchdowns against a defense that had only allowed 12 touchdowns in the previous 10 games. He goes against a fairly tough Seattle defense in week 13, but if need the help for one or two weeks, he should be a decent fill-in.
Trent Dilfer SFR – It looks Dilfer will start for the rest of the season for the 49ers and is coming off a strong game against the Cardinals in week 12. He completed 25 of 39 passes for 256 yards and 2 touchdowns, with no interceptions. He faces the Panthers, Vikings and Bengals, who are the16th, 32nd, and 26th pass defenses, in the next three weeks and should put up solid numbers.
RB
Patrick Cobbs MIA – Cobbs may get the start against the Jets in week 13 due to the injuries in front of him. With Ricky Williams done for the year and Jesse Chatman hurting, Cobbs may get the call against a weak Jets run defense.
Derrick Ward NYG – It looks good for Ward to start in week 13 against the 27th ranked rushing defense of the Bears. Ward looked very good before he got hurt and if someone in your league dropped him then grab him now, especially if you have a shot at the playoffs.
Garrett Wolfe CHI – With Cedric Benson lost for the season; Wolfe could see some additional carries as the bench is limited. He only has 9 carries for 31 yards, so this is definitely a longshot pick, but if you are desperate, he could see some playing time.
Fred Jackson BUF – Jackson will get the start in week 13 if Anthony Thomas cannot go, as he received all of the touches after Thomas left week 12’s game. He will be facing a solid Redskins rushing defense, but if you need a starter and he is available, grab him, but watch the news later in the week to make sure Thomas can’t go.
WR
Keenan McCardell WAS – McCardell has become a bigger part of the Redskins offense with all the injuries at the WR position. He has caught 15 passes in the last 3 weeks for 169 yards and a touchdown. He is not the greatest option, but if you need help he is probably the best player available.
Roscoe Parrish BUF – The team is trying to get the ball into Parrish’s hands more often and he has used that to score a TD in each of the last two games; one by receiving, one by rushing. He has only caught 5 passes in those same two weeks, so he is by no means a solid start, but at this late stage there is probably not a lot left on the wire.
Greg Lewis PHI – Well we know who AJ Feeley likes to throw too after last week. After only catching 4 passes in the eleven previous games, he caught 4 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots in week 12. It looks like Feeley will get at least one more start, so if you are truly desperate and want to take a chance….
Drew Carter CAR – Carter has caught 14 passes for 257 yards and 2 touchdowns in the last 4 games. In week 13 he gets to go against San Fran, who is currently ranked 24th against the pass. Carter won’t win you any games by himself, but if you are in a PPR league, he will score you something.
TE
Billy Miller NOS – Miller has started to take looks away from Eric Johnson and has 2 touchdowns in the last 3 games. He also has 11 receptions and 133 yards over the last 4 games. You won’t find much better at this late stage of the year.
Ben Utecht IND – As with the other TEs on this list, Utecht is a player that will score you some points, but won’t break the bank. He has 10 catches for 94 yards and a touchdown in the last 3 games.
Chris Baker NYJ – Baker actually has better numbers than Utecht, and has done it against Washington, Pittsburgh and Dallas. In those 3 games he has 11 receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown. Look for Clemens to continue to look his way, especially if Laveranues Coles cannot play in week 13.
