Everyone knows that Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams will serve as the Detroit Lions' #1 and #2 receivers this year. What is less certain is who will be catching those sloppy thirds... Both Shaun McDonald and Mike Furrey have made strong cases to fill that role. However, as things stand at the moment, the Lions are planning to run McDonald in the #3 spot. But that's not where the story ends, fantasy addicts - not according to mLive.com's Tom Kowalski. If either Johnson or Williams get hurt, expect Mike Furrey to step into the starting lineup ahead of McDonald. Furrey is considered a better fit on the outside, with McDonald in the slot in three-receiver sets. Of course, as much as the Lions are likely to pass this year, it may not matter all that much who is considered a "starter." |
