 Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald agreed to a re-worked contract with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday that will free up salary cap space for the team, and pay the wideout $40 million over the course of four years.
The Cardinals only had about $400,000 left before this deal, so they were desperate. The team originally wanted to extend Fitz to a new six-year deal, but ultimately found themselves between a rock and a hard place, and agreed to the four-year deal that Fitzgerald wanted. The deal gives the team an additional $8.842 million in cap room.
