The Green Bay Packers decided not to let defensive tackle Corey Williams test the free agency waters, naming him the team's 2008 franchise player. The franchise tag essentially prevents other teams from signing Williams by allowing the Packers to match any offer, or receive two first-round draft picks as compensation. |
