The Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday waived 2004 second-round cornerback Kiewan Ratliff. The insider word has it that Ratliff lacked toughness and was not considered a courageous player. The team signed Blue Adams to the open roster spot. Adams will be placed in a position to make a quick contribution to the Bengals' special teams play. This is an interesting move, but not particularly surprising. Ratliff has clearly been a disappointment, and Adams has proven a solid special-teamer in his time in the league. He was with the Bengals during training camp, but suffered a neck injury and was released. He has now signed a two-year contract. |
