B.J. Askew is entering free agency after spending four seasons as the New York Jets' fullback. However, he is looking for the opportunity to play at halfback. Askew told the Associated Press "Trust me, that's what I do the best. Just because I've been able to play fullback at a competitive level, that was pleasing to a lot of people. Now, I'm at the point where I've had enough, and it's time for me to do what I do best." Coming out of Michigan in 2003, Askew had a reputation as a playmaker who can run, catch, and block. He has been somewhat more one-dimensional in New York. No, we're not going to suggest you go out and grab him as the next great thing... but it will be interesting to see where he goes and how his role develops during the course of the summer. |
