The New York Jets have released running back Derrick Blaylock and defensive end Bobby Hamilton according the NFL.com. Blaylock's agent, Michael L. Huyghue, stated that Derrick could re-sign with the team this off-season. He was signed in 2005 to back up Curtis Martin. He started the first two games last year, but was ineffective and was active for only two other games for the remaining of the 2006 season. Hamilton signed prior to the 2006 season due to his familiarity with head coach Eric Mangini's 3-4 defense.
