According to the Nashville City Paper, the Tennessee Titans and soon-to-be free agent cornerback Nate Clements are interested in one another. Clements is considered the best corner on the 2007 Free Agent market, and the Titans are in need of an upgrade at the position. While the team cannot publicly comment on a player before the start of free agency on March 2nd, both general manager Mike Reinfeldt and head coach Jeff Fisher have expressed that the team will look very closely at both the Draft and free agency to address the need at cornerback. A source at the NFL Combine told the Nashville City Paper that the Titans are high on the list of teams for which Clements would like to play. Match made in heaven? Clements is a very good CB, and may see a bit of an increase in fantasy performance in Tennessee. The defense has a number of areas that need some serious help. They spent more time on the field in 2006 than any other team, and appear slated to remain in the bottom tier in 2007. That said, it's worth noting that Buffalo was the third-worst defense in terms of Time Of Possession, and seventh-worst in total plays - so any increase would likely be modest. |
