Brian Kruper's College Bowl Review

New Mexico Bowl - Wyoming vs. Fresno St.: (35-28 OT Wyoming): This was a good game, and Wyoming rallied back from 11 points in the 4th quarter to force an OT. Wyoming was facing the nation's leading rusher in RB Ryan Mathews. Mathews has a Solid game with 31/144 and 2 TD's. He did have a key fumble late in the 4th quarter that led to Wyoming forcing the OT. Fresno St. had 1st and goal, and was stuffed 4 times by the Cowboy defense. This was a great game and Wyoming had the blessing of having true freshmen QB Austyn Carta-Samuels. He is the real deal, and I do suggest watching this game if available on replay.

St. Petersburg Bowl - UCF vs. Rutgers: (45-24 Rutgers): Story of this game was Rutgers D and the skill players of Rutgers. Sr. WR Tim Brown was supposed to miss this game, but not only did he play, but  played well. 4/99 1 TD is a nice way to end his college career. Rutgers still has Some young major talent coming back, with freshmen QB Tom Savage, and WR Mohamed Sanu leading the way. Keep an eye out for this kid, 6'2 215 lbs, and had a monster game. Ran the wildcat, and ended up with 13/41 rushing yds with 2 scores. He alSo caught 4/97 and another score.

R + L Carriers New Orleans Bowl - Southern Miss vs. Mid Tennessee St. : (42-32 MTSU) One of the more interesting games for me, as I was excited to see RB Damion Fletcher (SR) and WR DeAndre Brown (So) from Southern Miss. Seen 4 games this year from Southern Miss, So I knew what to expect from them. Playing in his final game, Fletcher had 17/78. I like him as a player, and will be interested to see where he ends up in the draft. As for Brown, I lump him into the great Sophomore WR class including Jones Green. If you haven’t seen him play, I suggest you do a search on him. He finished the game with 4/65 yds and 2 tds. At 6'6 228 lbs, he is indeed a mismatch. Had a down yr due to injury, but when he is truly healthy he is a treat to watch. The player who stood out most in the game was junior QB Dwight Dasher. On the small side, at 5'10 204 lbs, he has big time skill set. He finished the game completing 15/25 162 yds and 2 TD's and also ran for 201 and another 2 TD's. Keep this guy on your radar for next year's draft, as he is a freak.

San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl - California vs. Utah: (37-27 Utah) Story of this game was no RB Jahvid Best. As it turns out, that is it for him at Cal as he has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. No need to worry for Cal, as their Sophomore RB Shane Vereen picked the slack and ran for 122 yds on 20 carries and 2 scores. He also caught 3 balls for 20 yds. Utah was lead by Fr. QB Jordan Wynn. He passed for 338 yds, with 3 TD's.

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl - Nevada vs. SMU: (45-10 SMU) I really thought this game would be close then what it really was. Nevada had 3 1,000 yd rushers this yr. They were without one this game unfortunately. It showed, as SMU passed all over this team early and often. Seems to be a recurring theme this bowl season, but yet another Fr. QB Kyle Padron lit up Nevada D for the tune of 23/41 for 460 yds and 2 TD's. One of them went to Sr. WR Emmanuel Sanders. He finished his SMU career with 7/124 and the TD of 58 yds. Jr. WR Aldrick Robinson finished with 9/176 but didn't get a score. Jr. RB Shawnbrey McNeal chipped in with 12/63 and 3 scores. After a 25 yr suspension for bowl games, SMU proved they are back. Also huge props to Coach June Jones. The Run-N-Shoot is alive and well.

Las Vegas Bowl - BYU vs. Oregon St.: (44-20 BYU) This game was a huge surprise to me. After that classic Civil War game vs. Oregon, I thought they would come out very pissed off and motivated to beat BYU. They were flat all day and it showed. Their 2 biggest playmakers, the Rodgers boys, RB Jacquizz and WR James, combined for 130 total yds. Per game together, they average 310.4 yds per game. OUCH. BYU did a great job at taking those 2 out of the game. On the BYU side of the ball, QB Max Hall passed for 192 yds and 3 TD's. His brother-in-law and fellow SR. TE Dennis Pitta had 5-45 and a score, and had a chance at another but Hall overthrew him. This game was ugly from start to finish.

Little Caesars Bowl - Ohio vs. Marshall: (21-17 Marshall) I was pretty disappointed in this game. I saw both teams play twice this yr, and was very impressed with Ohio. They played their hearts out in the MAC title game vs. Central Michigan, so I figured they would come out with more fire and trickery that they were known for. Marshall did a great job taking Sr. WR Taylor Price out of the game. He finished up with 4/49. Ohio just couldn't get their other weapons going as well. Another guy I was looking forward to watching was Jr. RB Darius Marshall of Marshall. Saw him play East Carolina earlier in the yr and he went off for 28/141 and 2 scores. Ohio did a decent job at containing him with only 77 yds. His teammate in the backfield, Fr. RB Martin Ward had 2 scores and 72 yds. Had a pretty good ending, only to see QB Theo Scott throw a game ending pick. Scott was another player, who Marshall needed to stop to win the game and they were successful at that.

Meineke Car Care Bowl - North Carolina vs. Pittsburgh: (19-17 Pittsburgh) On paper, this looked to be a good game, and it definitely didn't disappoint. These are both teams I really liked going forward. North Carolina was lead by Jr. WR Greg Little 7/87 2 td's. Also Fr. TE Erik Highsmith chipped in 3/38 yds. If all come back, NC will be even that much better. Pittsburgh was lead by their outstanding Fr. RB Dion Lewis who carried 28/159 a score. Could of been 2, but he fumbled down by the goal line and was considered a touchback. Pittsburgh was lead by WR Mike Shanahan 5/83, SR. TE Dorin Dickson 4/21 and Sophomore WR Jonathon Baldwin 3/31. Another one of those outstanding Sophomore WR's college has this yr. Pittsburgh has all the pieces in place to be a great team next yr as well.

Emerald Bowl - Boston College vs. USC: (24-13 USC) Pretty good game, but always interested in seeing USC play. QB Matt Barkley had a Solid game, as the Fr. QB passed for 350 yds 2 TD's and 2 picks. He alSo ran a TD in. Pretty sure this was Jr. WR Damian Williams’ last game at USC and he finished the game with 12 catches and 189 yds. Nice way to go out. Player who stood out on the USC side of the ball most was Jr. FB Stanley Havili. He was very effective catching the ball out of the backfield with 6 catches for 83 yards and 2 scores. Longest reception was a 53 yarder. On the BC side of the ball, Sophomore RB Montel Harris carried 23 times for 102 yards and 1 TD. Although he fumbled twice, losing 1 to USC I liked the way he ran. Never gave up, and had a nice open field burst. Biggest news of the night by far, was that LB Mark Herzlich was coming back in 2010. For those who don't know, he was diagnosed with cancer and took all of 2009 off. He is now cancer free, and perSonally looking forward to seeing him step back on the football field.

Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl - Kentucky vs. Clemson: (21-13 Clemson) Game of interest for me, as the starting QB for Kentucky is a former Indiana’s Mr. Football in 2008, QB Morgan Newton. Huge buzz for him in Indy, So was looking forward to seeing him in college. Could have easily played basketball as well, as the kid is a pure athlete. Has a strong arm, and moves very well in the pocket. Could say he is a very poor man's Tyrell Pryor. Time will tell for him. It was the last game for a few draft prospects for Kentucky in LB Micah Johnson and CB Trevor Lindley. Both will be drafted no doubt. On the Clemson side of the ball, RB Spiller played his final game at Clemson. Had 15/67 and a TD, and also caught 3/58 yds. Was a good defensive game, and at the start of 4th quarter it was only a 14-13 Clemson lead. Clemson will also be losing some key D guys to the draft.

AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl - Texas A&M vs. Georgia: (44-20 Georgia) This game was a story of two halves. First half Texas A&M looked like they were going to pull away for a little bit. Jr. QB Jerrod Johnson had a good game, as he threw for 362 yds with 2 TD's and 2 picks. He had 28 passing TD's to go with 6 rushing TD's this season, So for the most part Georgia did a good job with him. Georgia really made some good halftime adjustments. Lack of a running game, was A&M's problem. Georgia ran the ball pretty good, with Fr. RB Washun Ealey leading the way with 78 yds, and Sophomore RB Caleb King pitching in with 60 yds and 2 scores. Sophomore WR A.J. Green first game back after a injury, did a good job of taking up 2 A&M defenders to free the field for the others to have Solid day. Bulldogs D came up big in the 2nd half lead by their standout Jr. LB Rennie Curran and JR S Reshad Jones.

EagleBank Bowl - Temple vs. UCLA: (30-21 UCLA) Wasn't sure what to expect in this game, but turned out to be very entertaining game. Temple making their 1st bowl appearance since 1984 came motivated. True freshman RB Bernard Pierce had some nice runs, but was kept in check for the most part. Had 53 yds, and a score with a long of 21 yds. For a RB who had over 1,300 yards and 15 tds for the season, UCLA defending him pretty good. Freshman QB Kevin Price looked up and down at times, finished with 221 yds and 2 scores with a pick. Sophomore WR Nelson Rosario showed flashes of why the program thinks he is the best WR since JJ Stokes. Day after the game, Jr. DT Brian Price announced he was entering the 2010 draft. Huge hit going into 2010 for this team.

Champs Sports Bowl - Wisconsin vs. Miami: (20-14 Wisconsin)  I was really impressed with Wisconsin all year, and thought they would win against Miami. First play of the game, Miami returned the kick for a TD but got called back to the 10. Miami scored on the next play, but Wisconsin came back and scored as well. Story of this game was how the Badgers D shut down Miami. Sophomore QB Jacory Harris was held in check all night. Miami lost one of their biggest playmakers in Jr. RB Graig Cooper. His status for next season is in question as well.  Badgers had all the answers. On the offensive side of the ball, Sophomore RB John Clay had a very impressive game as he ran for 121 and 2 scores, and his backfield mate Fr. RB Montee Ball chipped in with 61 yds. TE Garrett Graham playing his last game caught 6 for 77 yds. Should have had a TD, but fumbled the ball out of the endzone for a touchback. Graham projected a top 5 TE most sites, hard to replace that, but b/u JR TE Lance Kendricks might have Something to say about that. He caught 7 for 128 yds, and the TE position again looks to be strong.

Roady's Humanitarian Bowl - Idaho vs. Bowling Green: (43-42 Idaho) I haven't see Idaho play all year, but to say I was impressed is a huge understatement. Lead by JR QB Nathan Enderle's 240 yds and 4 TD's and So WR Preston Davis lead the WR's with 119 on 4 catches and a TD. The running game was lead by Sr. RB DeMaundray Woolridge and his 126yds and 2 TD's. The story of the game was Bowling Green's Sr WR Freddie Barnes. He needed 5 catches to break the NCAA reception record of 142 by WR Manny Hazard of the old run - n - shoot in Houston. He ended up with 17 catches for 219 yds and 3 TD's. For those who haven't seen him play, I suggest getting familiar with him now. He will be playing on Sundays in 2010. No one deserved to lose this game, as it was entertaining to the end. Wish more bowl games were like this.

Pacific Life Holiday Bowl - Arizona vs. Nebraska: (33-0 Nebraska) Not much to say here, this game was over in the 1st quarter.

Brut Sun Bowl - Oklahoma vs. Stanford: (31-27 Oklahoma) This turned out to be another one I really enjoyed. Stanford played this game without their star Fr QB Andrew Luck.  RB Toby Gerhart had another good day, as he rushed for 135 yards and a TD and had 1 reception for 8 yards. The other playmaker on offense, WR Ryan Whalen caught 3 balls for 65 yards. Just have to think, what this season could have been with Bradford and Gresham. That is taking nothing away from Fr. QB Landry Jones, who had another stellar game passing for 418 yards and 3 TD's. Sophomore WR Ryan Broyles had an excellent day, as he was the recipient of all 3 td passes from Jones. He also had 156 yards with 13 catches. Stanford did a decent job at stopping the RB duo of DeMarcco Murray and Chris Brown. They held the two combined under 100 yards.

Texas Bowl - Navy vs. Missouri: (35-13 Navy) This game was a lot different than I thought it would be. I know Navy did beat Some decent teams, but never thought they would take it the Tigers. Game started out great for Mizzou, they scored on a 58 yd TD pass to Sr. WR Danario Alexander. He finished up his final college game with 6 catches 137 and that score, but also dropped a few passes. Navy did a great job of limiting So QB Blaine Gabbert and this offense. One of my favorite players Jr. RB Derrick Washington had a decent game. Finished up with 11/62 and had 3 catches for 83 yds, but also lost a fumble. Navy was lead by JR QB Ricky Dobbs who threw for 130 yds and 1 TD. He did most of the damage with his feet, as he ran for 166 yards and 3 scores. So. RB Marcus Curry had a great game himself, with 109 yds and a TD and he also caught 5 balls for 97 yds. Navy did a great job at isolating star Mizzou LB Sean Witherspoon. Great game plan, and was executed to perfection.

Insight Bowl - Iowa St. vs. Minnesota: (14-13 Iowa St.) Another game without a star player.  Minnesota SR WR Erik Decker was not playing due to injury. Only watched a quarter of this game, as it was brutal to watch.

Chick -fil- A Bowl - Virginia Tech vs. Tennessee: (37-14 Va. Tech) Was hoping Tennessee would have a better showing in this game. 1st half was pretty close actually, but then Va. Tech pulled away in the 2nd half. Fr. RB Bryce Brown didn't play due to injury, but he did suit up. Was hoping to see him, but with Sr. RB Mario Hardesty heading to the NFL, we will see much more of this kid next yr. Hardesty ended up with 39 yds and a score and he fought for every one of those 39 yds. Figured Sr. WB Jonathan Crompton would show more, but been the story of his yr. One game looks like he would make a Solid pro, next week lucky to be on Some JV team. Even before the season started Tech lost their star So. RB Darren Evans. No need to fear, Fr. RB Ryan Williams picked up the slack. This game was no different, as he ran for 117 yds and 2 scores. Jr. QB Tyrod Taylor had a So-So game, as he  passed for 209 yds and one pick. Made plays when need. He also rushed for 26 yds and a TD. So. WR Jarrett Boykin added four catches for 120 yds. Another one of those Sophomore WR's in college football I like. Va. Tech has a lot to look forward to next year, and I fully expect them to make a serious run at the National Championship next yr.

Outback Bowl - Northwestern vs. Auburn: (38-35 OT Auburn) Here was another interesting game for me. I had seen both teams multiple times this yr, and was excited to see some of the bigger names in this game. First with Northwestern, their standout Sr. DE Corey Wooten. He looked very quick coming off the line. Cannot find a box score with defensive stats to see what he did. On the NW side of ball, Sr. QB Mike Kafka had a good day/bad day all in one. He passed for 532 yds and 4 TD's, but also threw 5 INT's. That's the way the game was, up and down all day. On Auburn side of the ball, Sr. RB Ben Tate ran for 108 and 2 TD's. Was some very good plays and drives in this game, other ones, well not So much. Last 2 minutes, neither acted like it wanted a win but in the end, Auburn hit an OT field goal to win the game.

Konica Minolta Gator Bowl - Florida St. vs. West Virginia: (33-21 Florida St.) The big story here was Bobby Bowden's last game at Florida St. Saw a little of this game, as I flipping between LSU-Penn St. and Auburn and NW. I did see enough to see Jr. RB Noel Devine rip off his 70 yd TD run. Florida St. offense was lead by Sophomore RB Jermaine Thomas and his 121 yds and 2 scores.

Capital One Bowl - Penn St. vs. LSU: (19-17 Penn St.) Great game right here, and another I looked forward too. Last game for Sr. WR Brandon LaFell. Penn St did a pretty job on him. He still had 5 catches for 81 yds and a score, but without Sr. RB Charles Scott due to injury, he was their big play guy. Playing his last also was Sr. QB Daryll Clark of Penn St. He showed great leadership in this game, passed for 216 yds and a TD pass. Chipping in was Jr. RB Evan Royster 65 yds and So. RB Stephon Green with 35 yds. Great news for next year, RB Evan Royster announced he was coming back for his Sr. season.

Rose Bowl Game Presented By City - Ohio St. vs. Oregon: (26-17 Ohio State) Going in I figured this would be a blowout of epic proportions. Goes to show you this is why they play the games. Oregon proved all year they were a team to be reckoned with. Ohio State obviously didn't get the memo. QB Pryor had his coming out party, and the questions on whether he could step up in a bowl game was answered. I for one was very impressed, and curious to see if his play carries into next season. He play's next year like he did in this game, and no doubt he will be in the Heisman talk all year. Oregon's big 3 of Massoli, Dickson, and James were contained all night long.

Allstate Sugar Bowl - Cincy vs. Florida: (51-24 Florida) Prior to the Urban Meyer talk, I felt Cincinnati had a good shot in this game. Last 5 games their D has been shaky, but start of the year they looked awesome. Figured big win vs. Pittsburgh even given up the points and yardage, they had a chance to move within the upper echelon of college football with a win over the winning-est team in SEC history was motivation enough. This game was ugly from start to finish, and a shame a 12-0 team looked this badly. Florida really came out to play. Not sure where he will fit in at the next level, QB Tim Tebow definitely saved his best game for last and cemented his name in stone as the best college football player I have ever seen.

International Bowl - USF (South Florida) vs. N. Illinois: (27-3 South Florida) Another ugly game right here. I was anxious to see USF defensive players DE's George Selvie and Jason Pierre-Paul, and their stud S Nate Allen. All 3 will be playing on Sunday’s next yr. After Jr. QB Matt Grothe was out for the yr, the outlook didn't look to good. Fr. QB PJ Daniels has played beyond anyone’s expectations. It will be interesting to see what happens next yr when Grothe is healthy. Daniels passed for 217 yds and 2 TD's. On the receiving end was Jr. WR A.J. Love who caught the 2 TD's, and also 56 yds. Jr. RB Mike Ford chipped in with 207 rushing yds and a score. Big win for SF, who will be gutted on the D side of ball next yr.

AT&T Cotton Bowl - Oklahoma St. vs. Mississippi: (21-7 Ole Miss) I expected So much from Oklahoma St prior to the season. Had their big 3 offensive players coming back, well as we saw that went downhill rather quickly. Their star WR Dez Bryant was suspended for the yr, RB Hunter got hurt and QB Zac Robinson was left with limited playmakers. OK ST looked ok 1st half of this game, but second half was another story. Sr. QB Zac Robinson threw 4 INT's in this game, without a TD. Their only score came on a Sr. RB Keith Totson halfback pass to So. TE Wilson Youman. Running game looked pretty Solid, as TotSon ran for 41 yds and fellow Jr. RB Kendall Huner added 94 rushing yds. Ole Miss had a 1 man show, as Sr. RB Dexter McCluster accounted for all the Ole Miss scoring on offense. He ran for 184 yds and 2 scores. Sr. WR Shay Hodge caught 7 passes for 112 yds. QB Jevan Snead got hurt in this game, but came back into the game. Looked bad all game long, as he threw for 3 TD's.

AutoZone Liberty Bowl - Arkansas vs. East Carolina: (20-17 OT Arkansas) I liked this game. Not a lot of scoring, but Some good defense played. For East Carolina, Sr. QB Robert Pickney passed for 209 yds and a touch. Sr. RB Dominique Lindsay ran for 209 yds and a score. So. WR Darryl Freeney caught 6 passes for 94 yds. Arkansas side of the ball, So. QB Ryan Mallet threw for 202 yds and a TD to So. WR Jarius Wright. Wright caught 4 balls for 90 yds.

Valero Alamo Bowl - Michigan St. vs. Texas Tech: (41-31 Texas Tech) Of course big story here was the firing of coach Mike Leach. The game still had to be played and it was a solid one. Michigan St So. QB Kirk Cousins played a pretty game. Texas Tech was applying some heavy pass rush all night, but he seemed to read the defense rather well for the part. Fr. RB Edwin Baker lead the Spartans with 97 rushing yds and a score. Sr. WR Blair White led Mich. St. with 114 yds and a score. So. WR Keshawn Martin had a great game. He threw a TD to Blair, and also caught one from Cousins. Really like this kid's talent. Looking forward to the Cousins to Martin combo next yr. Outside of playing stellar defense, their offense showed up as always. Jr. QB Taylor Potts threw for 372 yds and 1 pick. Jr. RB Baron Batch ran for 100 yds and 2 tds and also caught 6 balls for 85 yds. Jr. WR Detron Lewis (guy who took Crabtree's slot) caught 10 balls for 114 yds and a TD. Not sure if it was a coaching decision, or Potts was hurt, but Jr. QB Steven Sheffield came in and replaced Potts. I know that TT really likes this kid. He was 9/11 for 88 yds and a TD and looked very sharp when in there. It might be a situation to monitor coming into spring practice.

Fiesta Bowl - Boise St vs. TCU: (17-10 Boise St.) Just a little rant before I start this game. The BCS chairman wasted these 2 teams on each other. Both deserved better games, and that’s not taking anything away from each other. Not sure where they could have placed them, but this is why we need a playoff system in college. Ok rant over.

This game IMO was top 3 game of the whole bowl season. TCU was an offensive juggernaut this yr. They averaged over 40 points a game. That in itself is highly impressive. Game started with 3 and outs for both teams. Then TCU was just held shutout until a late half score. Boise St played incredible defense all game long. So many plays to mention, but if they have a replay of this game, whoever missed this gem needs to watch it. This is what college football is all about.

Orange Bowl - Iowa vs. Georgia Tech: (24-14 Iowa) This was a classic offense vs. defense battle, and may the best team win. This in its own is unreal, Jr. QB Josh Nesbitt was only 2-9 for 12 yds passing the game. Iowa took him out of the game early and often. Jr. RB Jonathon Dwyer (a sure 1st rounder in the 23010 NFL draft) was held to 49 yds on 14 carries. He also caught 2 balls for 12 yds. Iowa Jr. QB Ricky Stanzi had a decent night. He had one throw taken back for a pick 6. He came back and threw for 231 yds and 2 TD's. His first game back from injury, and looked like he had no rust. Fr. RB Brandon Wegher was the leading rusher for Iowa with 113 yds and a td. Sr. TE Tony Moeaki playing his last game with Iowa, caught 4 passes for 85 yds.

GMAC Bowl - Troy vs. Central Michigan: (44-41 OT Central Michigan) This was by far the bowl game I was looking forward to the most. I wanted to see how Sr. QB Dan LeFevour would handle the defense of Troy. Three of their defensive players will play on Sundays in the fall, DE Brandon Lang,  LB Cameron Sheffield, and LB Boris Lee.  There were great skill players on both sides of the ball for each team. First for Troy, Sr. QB Levi Brown. He passed for 386 yds and a TD. Troy's running game was led by Jr. RB DuJuan Harris  with 112 yds and 2 scores. Also Fr. RB Shawn Southward, chipped in with 49 yds and 2 td's. Jr. WR Jerrel Jernigan was also explosive in the game. For those who haven’t seen him play, I suggest finding some video on him as he is a very exciting player. Jernigan caught 9 balls and 154 yds. He also ran the ball 6 times for 39 yds. Central Michigan was lead by QB Dan LeFevour who threw for 395 with one td and a pick. He also ran one in for a TD. The INT came late in the first half trying to throw a hail mary. The running game was paced by So. RB Bryan Schroeder. He had 73 yds on 13 carries. Jr. WR Antonio Brown led the Chippewa’s with 12 catches for 178 yds and a score. He also ran one in, and returned a kickoff for a TD for 95 yds. That was the turning point of the game, happened late in the 4th quarter. He is one to keep an eye on, as I think he will be playing on Sundays as well. Sr. WR Bryan Anderson also helped the cause with 7 catches for 84 yds and a TD. Sr. K Andrew Augila made up for the field goal attempt he missed earlier with the game winner.

BCS Championship Game - Texas vs. Alabama: (37-21 Alabama) I was looking forward to this game when it was announced. This game played out a lot different then what I thought. Game started out with Alabama getting the ball first. Texas definitely came to play. Any chance of a National Championship for Texas was shattered once QB Colt McCoy was knocked out of the game. Or was it? Alabama dominated the 1st half, and looked awesome doing it. Fast forward to the 2nd half. Texas Fr. QB Garrett Gilbert looked a lot more focused once they resumed play. He hit some key passes, and a solid running game could of helped out the young QB. Sr. WR Jordan Shipley did all he could with a 10 catch 122 yd performance. He also caught 2 TD passes. Alabama was led by a tenacious D. They put pressure on Gilbert all night. Then the RBs for Alabama took over. So. RB and Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram rushed for 116 yds and 22 carries and 2 scores. He didn't get the memo that Heisman Trophy winners flop in the Championship game. Fr. RB Trent Richardson also had a great night. On 19 carries, he had 109 yds with 2 TD's as well. He had a sweet 49 yd td run. Congrats to Alabama, this was a fun game to watch.

Only downside to the bowl season was a lot of very good talent didn't play in bowls or was injured. Here are some we didn't have the pleasure in seeing:

QB: Jimmy Clausen
QB: Sam Bradford
RB: Jahvid Best
RB: Charles Scott
WR: Dez Bryant
WR: Arrelious Benn
WR: Golden Tate
WR: Dezmon Briscoe
WR: Erik Decker
WR: Mike Williams
WR: Kerry Meier
TE: Jermaine Gresham
TE: Ron Gronkowski
